SONAR is the space and showroom of NAVE, located on the twelfth floor of Edificio El Girón — a 1978 modernist landmark in Quito, Ecuador. Compact in plan and elevated above the city, SONAR was designed and remodeled by NAVE not only to present furniture, but to extend the brand’s spatial and material language into architecture itself. Here, objects and interior operate as a single gesture.

The intervention was guided by reduction. Previous finishes were removed to reveal raw concrete, while new steel elements were introduced — not as decoration, but as visual structure, establishing a direct dialogue with the pieces on display. Glass, shadow, and natural light complete a restrained palette where each object is given room to breathe. The space is not a backdrop; it is an active part of the discourse — framing, counterbalancing, and amplifying the presence of the furniture.

SONAR functions both as a showroom and as a place of encounter. It hosts presentations, listening sessions, small exhibitions, and visits that bring people into close proximity with design. It is a space meant to be inhabited slowly — to touch, observe, and understand that NAVE is not only designing objects, but the environments that hold them.
